The experience

The class starts in a home kitchen in Cortona, where you'll make panzanella, fresh pici pasta (the local shape), Chianina steak and an Italian dessert. You work alongside the chef and his wife, learning the recipes and techniques they use at home, using ingredients from the garden. The kitchen is small and intimate. This is not a demonstration where you watch from a counter. You're cooking, tasting as you go, and building the meal course by course.

After five and a half hours, you sit down to eat everything you've made. The class includes all the food. Dietary needs are accommodated without advance notice required. Children are welcome, and infants can sit on a lap or travel in a pram. Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport to the kitchen.
