The experience
The morning option starts at the local market, where your Cesarina host walks you through the seasonal produce and teaches you how to pick ingredients the way locals do. You'll learn what makes each item worth buying and how the seasons shape what's available. Then you head to their home for the hands-on part: an Italian aperitivo of Prosecco and nibbles, followed by instruction in making one iconic pasta type native to Pienza and the famous tiramisu. Everything stays small group, so there's room to ask questions and watch closely as the host demonstrates each step.
After the cooking finishes, you sit down to eat what you've made, paired with local wines, beverages and coffee. The whole experience runs about five hours. You'll wear an official Cesarine apron throughout, and the host speaks English or Italian depending on the group. If the morning market tour doesn't fit your schedule, the afternoon class skips the market and moves straight to the kitchen and the cooking itself.
