The experience

The tour runs four to five hours and starts with pickup from your hotel, airport or cruise terminal. Your guide meets you in an air-conditioned car and takes you through the city's central landmarks, starting at the Gateway of India. You'll spend time inside each major attraction (the Crawford Market, Dhobi Ghat, Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, Hanging Gardens and Kamala Nehru Park), while the guide explains the history and significance of each place. Some stops, like Marine Drive, Chowpatty Beach and the Bombay High Court, are viewed from outside with explanation and photo time.

Everything is arranged: entry fees, tolls, parking and the guide's time are all included, so you don't need to carry cash for tickets or negotiate at each stop. The car is private or shared depending on which option you book, and the driver handles navigation while your guide focuses on the sites. Bottled water comes with you throughout the day.
