The Experience

We rolled out from our hotel just after sunrise, the streets already humming — rickshaws darting past, chai sellers shouting over the horns. There was this rhythm to it all: machines whirring, someone frying snacks nearby, kids weaving between laundry lines strung overhead. It wasn’t what I expected — not sad or chaotic so much as alive and proud. Our guide talked about recycling businesses here and pointed out a tiny school wedged between two factories. By the time we left, my shirt smelled faintly of turmeric and engine oil.
