Dharavi is split into two distinct parts, and the guide takes you through both. The commercial zone comes first. You'll walk past plastic recycling operations, aluminum and paper recycling, cardboard and oil paint can recycling, leather factories, luggage bag manufacturing, bakeries and clothing industries. These are working spaces, not exhibits: people are there doing the job. The guide explains how each one operates and what the workers earn, so you're not just looking at the activity but understanding the economics that hold the neighborhood together.

The residential section shows how people actually live in Dharavi. You'll walk through narrow alleys, see the homes stacked close together, and meet locals going about their day.
