The experience

A bus picks you up from your hotel around 4 p.m. and takes you to the ATV base, where you get a short briefing before heading into the desert on a quad bike: one or two riders per machine. The ride itself is the core of the afternoon: you cross open sand, hear your voice echo off the mountains, and move at your own pace through the landscape. After that first stretch, the group stops at a Bedouin camp to rest, drink tea and learn to make Bedouin bread by hand, then ride camels through the camp before heading back to the quads.

The second ATV run takes you to a tent set up in the desert where dinner and a show run for two and a half hours. The meal is a buffet of grilled meat, kofta, chicken, rice, pasta and bread, with tea and water included. While you eat, the guide walks you through constellations and planets, and you get time at a telescope to see them for yourself. After that, you ride back to the base and the bus returns you to your hotel, arriving late evening.

The tour runs as a shared group by default, which means you'll be on quads with other travelers and share the Bedouin camp and dinner tent. If you want to ride alone and have private transfers both ways, that's available as an upgrade at checkout.
