Sinai Desert ATV & Stargazing Tour: Quad Ride, Dinner & Shows
Quad bikes and telescopes in the same evening
This 5.5-hour tour in the Sinai Desert combines ATV riding, Bedouin camp visits, sunset views, dinner and entertainment, then moves to stargazing with large telescopes and expert guidance. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with a safety helmet, camel rides, and a buffet meal with soft drinks. The guide speaks English, Italian or German.
The Experience
Your hotel pickup arrives in an air-conditioned vehicle, and your instructor walks you through safe quad bike handling before you head out. You'll start on flat desert sand to build confidence on the bike, then ride toward a traditional Bedouin camp where you can walk among the tents, sip Habbak tea, and photograph the landscape. The route takes you to a small hill timed to catch the sunset over the valley—the light and the scale of the desert are what make this stop worth the ride.
Dinner is a buffet of grilled kofta and chicken, rice, pasta, three kinds of salad, and bread, cooked with mineral water and served in the camp. After you eat, the entertainment begins: fire-eating, folklore dance, and Tannoura performances happen in the open air. If you want to ride a camel, that's free and optional; many people do it here while the light is still good enough for photos.
Once the sun is down, your Bedouin guide escorts the group to where the telescopes are set up. An English-speaking astronomer explains what the night sky holds—you'll typically see the moon's craters, Saturn's rings, star constellations, and sometimes Mars, depending on the season. The telescopes are large enough that everyone gets a real look, not a squint through an eyepiece. You leave with a map of how to find those same stars on any night of the year.

Can I ride the ATV if I've never done it before?
Yes. Your instructor teaches you how to handle the quad safely, and you start on flat sand to get comfortable with the bike before heading toward the camp. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels.
What exactly will I see through the telescopes?
The Sinai Desert location offers excellent stargazing conditions. On most nights you'll see the moon's craters, Saturn, star constellations, and sometimes Mars. An English-speaking astronomer explains what you're looking at and helps you locate the positions of stars you can find on any night of the year.
Is the camel ride included, or do I have to pay extra?
Camel rides are free and optional. Many people do them in the camp while the light is still good for photos, but you can skip it if you prefer to rest or explore the tents instead.
What if I'm vegetarian?
The buffet dinner is open-style, so you can choose from the salads, bread, rice, and pasta. Let your hotel know your dietary preference when you book, and the operator will make sure there's plenty for you to eat.
How long is the whole tour, and when does it end?
The tour runs 5.5 hours from pickup to drop-off. You'll be back at your hotel after the stargazing session ends, typically in the evening.
Do I need to speak English to enjoy this tour?
The guide is available in English, Italian, or German. You choose your language when you book. The astronomer who leads the stargazing speaks English.
