The experience

First thing I remember is the quiet shuffle of hotel slippers at 4am in Hurghada. Everyone half-awake but buzzing. The air smelled faintly salty from the Red Sea even that early. The Egyptian Museum was cooler inside than I expected: both temperature and vibe. There’s this hush that falls over you when you see Tutankhamun’s mask up close (it’s smaller than I thought).
