The Experience

You ride a UBCO 2x2 electric all-wheel-drive motorbike—a single-rider vehicle that handles both paved and unpaved roads through the park. No motorcycle license is required, only a regular driver's license and real prior 2-wheel riding experience. The guide leads a small group through less-traveled areas of Joshua Tree, stopping for 5–10 minutes at multiple locations to discuss landscape features, local history, fauna and flora. The terrain and the bike's capability mean you cover ground most visitors on foot never reach.

One stop includes a short, easy hike up to the Queen mine area for a closer look at the landscape. Throughout the ride, the guide shares extensive local knowledge about the park's distinctive Dr. Seuss-like rock formations and desert ecology. The whole experience runs about two and a half hours. You wear a helmet, gloves, and jacket as needed; water and a snack are provided. Tours run 7 days a week.

You must be at least 21 years old and 5'3" tall to reach the ground when sitting on the saddle. The tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with poor cardiovascular health; a moderate level of physical fitness is expected. Joshua Tree National Park entry is not included—you can pay the fee at the gate or purchase a pass online in advance.
