A private one-hour archery session near Joshua Tree National Park where you learn to shoot under instructor guidance, starting at 20 feet and advancing to greater distances as your accuracy improves. The range, bows, arrows, targets and protective hand gear are all provided. Children from age 5 are welcome, and the session takes place in a scenic mountain setting on a large property with plenty of space.

The experience

You'll meet your instructor at the archery range, where they'll show you how to hold the bow and shoot properly before handing you a bow and a bucket of arrows. The instructor stays with you until you're comfortable, answering questions as you go. You start at 20 feet and move back in increments as your accuracy improves: the furthest marker sits at 100 feet, though hitting targets at that distance takes real focus. Most people pick up the basics quickly, and you'll notice your accuracy improving within the first 20 minutes or so.

The archery range spans a large property in Joshua Tree with targets already set up and plenty of arrows to shoot. Protective hand gear is provided. You're on your own time: aim as best you can, make adjustments, and move back when you're ready. The setting is relaxing and scenic, nestled in the Joshua Tree mountains, and the whole experience is beginner-friendly: no prior archery experience is required.
