You drive your own three-wheeled Slingshot or Trike across the Hoover Dam with Lake Mead views, stop for photos at the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Bridge, explore the dam, eat BBQ lunch, and visit the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. No motorcycle license needed — the vehicles are automatic — and the whole experience takes a few hours from pickup to return.
Most people see the dam from a tour bus window or a parking lot overlook. You'll drive straight across it. After a quick safety briefing, you take control of your own Polaris Slingshot or Trike — no motorcycle license required, these are automatic — and head out into the Nevada desert toward the Colorado River. The road climbs and the city noise drops away. Lake Mead spreads out to your left, the largest reservoir in the United States, and then the dam itself comes into view: concrete, massive, real in a way photos don't quite capture.
The drive across the top of Hoover Dam is the centerpiece. You feel the structure beneath you, see the Colorado River drop away below, and stop for photos at the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, which frames the whole thing in a way that makes the scale impossible to ignore. The tour includes time to explore and shoot as much as you want — this isn't a drive-by. After that, you head back toward Las Vegas with your guide, and the pace shifts. Rick's Rollin Smokes BBQ lunch is included, and then there's a stop at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, the one from the TV show, where you can walk around and browse if you want to.
The whole thing takes a few hours from start to finish. You need a valid driver's license, you have to be at least 21 to drive (5 and up can ride as a passenger with a parent), and there's a waiver to sign. If you're booking for two people, one driver and one passenger, you only need to book one Trike — they fit two. Dress for the desert: long pants and sleeves aren't mandatory but they're smart. The tour runs in all weather, so check the forecast and bring layers if it's cool.
Your day includes use of an automatic Polaris Slingshot or Trike, a safety briefing and driver/guide, the drive across Hoover Dam with photo stops at the dam and the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Bridge overlooking Lake Mead, BBQ lunch at Rick's Rollin Smokes, and entry to the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop.
