Las Vegas: Desert ATV Tour & Mojave Trails with Pickup
An Hour on 450cc ATVs Through Red Rock & Sand
You ride a 450cc ATV for an hour through Mojave Desert trails and canyons, led by a guide who handles the route while you handle the machine. Pickup and return happen at Mandalay Bay's lower level; the whole experience runs about three hours door-to-door. Helmet, goggles, and water are included. Book this if you want to leave the casino floor without planning transport or worrying about whether you can actually do it — the guide and the gear take care of both.
Step-by-step itinerary

- Receive safety gear and orientation
- Ride 450cc ATV on desert trails
- Enjoy desert views and spot wildlife
- Return shuttle to Mandalay Bay Hotel
The Experience
The shuttle pulls away from Mandalay Bay's lower level and the city shrinks behind you. Forty minutes later, the pavement ends. What spreads in front of you is the Mojave Desert — rust-colored canyons, pale sand, the kind of quiet that makes you realize how loud the Strip actually is. Your guide hands you a helmet, goggles, gloves. The 450cc ATV sits there, compact and ready. No riding experience required, but your heart rate climbs anyway.
The orientation takes maybe fifteen minutes. How to grip, how to lean, where the throttle lives, what the brakes do. Then you're moving. The first trail is gentle enough to find your rhythm, and then it opens up — sandy washes, tight turns between rock faces, the engine loud in your chest. Your guide leads the way, and you follow the dust cloud ahead, learning the machine as you go. An hour sounds short until you're out there, and then it feels like the right amount of time to feel like you actually rode something, not just sat on it.
The desert does what it promises. You might see a lizard or a bird that belongs nowhere else. The light hits the canyon walls in ways that make you understand why people drove out here before there was a city. When you turn back toward the shuttle, you're covered in dust — it's in your hair, under your fingernails, on your teeth when you smile. The air-conditioned ride back to Mandalay Bay feels like a reward. You'll want to shower, but you won't want to wash the dust out of your clothes right away.
