The experience

You drive the UTV yourself for the full three hours at whatever speed feels comfortable. The machines are not tuned down, so you get the real power and handling. The route climbs to over 4,500 feet into a mountain range where the views don't exist anywhere else in the Las Vegas area, then descends into the Mohave Desert to explore Katherine Mine and several other abandoned mines scattered across the landscape. A guide rides with your group and handles navigation and safety, speaking English, Spanish or French depending on your preference.

The day includes a stop at a lake in the middle of the desert that few people ever see: untouched enough that it feels like you've found it yourself. Because this is a private group experience, you're not sharing the trail with other riders or waiting for a convoy to move. The route adapts to how your group wants to spend the time. All photos taken during the day are yours to keep, included with no additional charge.

Minimum group size is two people, with a minimum of two travelers per UTV. Riders must be at least 12 years old, and anyone driving needs a valid driver's license and must be at least 21. The experience is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or pregnancy. Service animals are welcome.

Can I ride alone, or do I have to share a UTV with someone else?

UTVs are designed for two riders per machine. If you're traveling solo, you'll need to purchase two traveler spots to have your own UTV. Otherwise the booking will be refunded due to insufficient group size. Groups of two or more can arrange their own pairings.

What's the terrain like on the Mohave Desert section?

The Mohave Desert route includes off-road trails through open desert landscape, climbs to over 4,500 feet through a mountain range, and passes through areas around Katherine Mine and other abandoned mines. The guide customizes the exact path based on your group's comfort level and interests, so the terrain difficulty can be adjusted.

Do I need a driver's license to operate the UTV?

Yes, you must have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old to drive. Riders as young as 12 can participate but cannot operate the machine themselves.

All photos taken by the operator throughout the day are free and included with your booking. The operator photographs your group and provides the images at no additional cost.
