The experience

The day starts 45 minutes outside Las Vegas in Nelson, where you walk through an 1861 mining town filled with vintage vehicles, Old West buildings and gold rush relics. Your guide shares stories about the films, TV shows and music videos shot here over the years. The place has become a backdrop for productions across decades. You get a sense of the landscape and the history before you gear up to ride.

Then you head out on the ATV or RZR (depending on which option you choose) through Eldorado Canyon's scenic desert trails. The ride is built for both beginners and seasoned riders, with your guide leading the way and capturing photos and videos as you go. You leave with a package of 30+ images and video clips from the day. All safety gear (helmets, goggles, gloves and a Shiesty) is provided, along with a safety briefing before you start. Closed-toe shoes are required. Sneakers or boots work fine.

After the ride, you head to the Adventure Zone for outdoor games: hatchet throwing, gel gun wars, cornhole, horseshoes and larger-scale competitions. The operator provides unlimited ice cold water, sunscreen and a dusting-off station throughout the day. Lunch is available for purchase if you want it. The whole experience runs about 4.5 hours from start to finish.

What happens if it rains?

What's the difference between the ATV and RZR options?

The ATV is a single-rider vehicle. The RZR is either a 2-seat or 4-seat side-by-side. Both are guided through the same Eldorado Canyon trails, and you choose which one fits your group size and preference at checkout. Damage liability differs between them if an incident occurs during the ride.

Do I need any riding experience to do this?

No experience is required. The trails through Eldorado Canyon are designed for beginners and seasoned riders, and you get a full safety and operations orientation before the ride begins. Your guide leads the way the entire time.

What happens at the Adventure Zone after the ride?

The Adventure Zone has outdoor games including hatchet throwing, gel gun wars, cornhole, horseshoes and larger group competitions. It's a chance to cool down, have some fun and compete with others in your group in a less intense setting than the ride.

Is hotel pickup available?

Yes, depending on the option you select at checkout. Some options include hotel pickup from Las Vegas. Others require you to drive to the location in Nelson yourself. The drive is about 45 minutes either way.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear closed-toe shoes only: sneakers or boots are ideal. The operator recommends avoiding shorts because of desert terrain, cacti and the possibility of rattlesnakes and other wildlife. All safety gear is provided. Bring sunscreen and a hat if you have one. The operator provides sunscreen, unlimited water and coolie neck ties to help keep you cool.
