The experience

You start with pickup from Treasure Island or another central Las Vegas location, then head east through Arizona's Joshua Tree forest on the way to the canyon. The drive itself is part of the day. It gives you time to settle in and get oriented before you arrive at Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai Tribal lands. A live English-speaking guide travels with the group and stays with you through the stops.

Once you reach the West Rim, you have four hours to spend at Eagle Point and Guano Point, the two main overlooks. Eagle Point is where the Grand Canyon Skywalk sits (a glass bridge that extends out over the canyon floor), and it's the signature photo spot if you want it. Guano Point is the final lookout, and it's where most groups eat if lunch is part of your option. You can hike, sit and take in the landscape, or move between the two viewpoints at your own pace. The Skywalk ticket is optional and can be added at checkout. Lunch options range from a box meal to a hot restaurant meal, or you can bring your own food if you prefer to skip the meal add-on entirely.

On the return to Las Vegas, the tour stops at the Hoover Dam area for photos of the Colorado River, Lake Mead, and the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Bridge. Hemenway Park is also on the route, where you might spot wild Bighorn Sheep if conditions are right. The full day runs about ten and a half hours from pickup to drop-off. WiFi is available on the coach, and you get one complimentary bottle of water. Bring more if you plan to hike or spend a lot of time in the sun at the rim.

What's the difference between the Skywalk and the regular rim views at Eagle Point?

Eagle Point has rim overlooks you can walk to for free as part of your four hours at the West Rim. The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a glass bridge that extends 70 feet out over the canyon, letting you stand above the drop with the Colorado River visible beneath you. It's a separate ticket you can add at checkout if you want that experience.

Can I book lunch, or do I have to bring my own food?

Lunch is optional. Your purchase option determines what's included: some options come with a hot restaurant meal or a box lunch, and others don't include a meal at all. If your option doesn't include lunch, you can bring your own food or buy at Hualapai Ranch on the rim. Outside food and beverages are not permitted on the vehicle itself, but you can eat at the canyon.

How much time do I actually spend at the Grand Canyon on this tour?

You have four hours at Grand Canyon West to explore Eagle Point, Guano Point, and Hualapai Ranch. The rest of the ten-and-a-half-hour day is the round-trip drive from Las Vegas, the Joshua Tree forest on the way out, and the Hoover Dam photo stop on the way back.

What if I'm staying at a different hotel than Treasure Island?

Treasure Island is the default pickup location. Contact customer support right after you book to request a different Strip hotel for pickup and drop-off: options are limited during certain events, but changes can usually be arranged if you ask immediately after booking.

Is there anything I shouldn't bring to the canyon?

Backpacks with two shoulder straps are not allowed at Grand Canyon West and must stay on the vehicle. Smaller one-strap bags and small purse backpacks are fine. Suitcases and larger luggage should be left at your hotel. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the tour vehicle.

What happens if weather or road delays occur?

Road or weather delays can happen on the drive to and from the canyon. The tour operator is not responsible for missed events, show tickets, flights, or dining reservations on the same day, so avoid booking other activities after this tour ends.
