The experience

The boat leaves the pier at 1 pm and heads straight to the first snorkel site. You get snorkelling equipment, and the two stops are chosen for their reef fish and visibility: the kind of spot where you can see the marine life without needing experience. If you want to jump from the sundeck or float on the surface, both work. If you'd rather stay on board, there's space to watch from the shaded lounging areas. Freshly made pancakes, sandwiches, fruit and cookies come out during the day, along with tea, coffee, juice and soft drinks.

Late afternoon the boat cruises to Promthep Cape, the headland where the sunset is visible across open water. You'll have time to settle onto the cosy pillows or in one of the shaded spots while the light changes. As the sun drops, dinner arrives: a Thai buffet with three dishes and salad, plus the option to order beer, wine or spirits at the bar. The whole experience wraps at 7:30 pm when you return to the pier.
