The Experience

Most Seoul tours lock you into a fixed itinerary. This one lets you pick: start at Gyeongbokgung Palace alone, add Bukchon Hanok Village, throw in Gwangjang Market and night views, or do the full sweep across all five stops. The palace is the largest of the Five Grand Palaces from the Joseon Dynasty—pavilions, courtyards, and a changing-of-the-guard ceremony that still happens daily. Then you walk into Bukchon, where hundreds of traditional hanok houses sit side by side, some still lived in, narrow alleys climbing between them with views of modern Seoul rising behind the tile roofs. It's the contrast that gets you: old wooden frames and paper windows, then you turn a corner and the city skyline is right there.

If you pick the market option, Gwangjang is one of Seoul's oldest—bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (the addictive seaweed rice rolls) are what people come for, though food costs are separate. The night routes take you to Naksan Park, where you walk the Seoul Fortress Wall with the city lit up below, or Eungbong Mountain for the full panoramic view of the Han River and the skyline. The tour runs 4 to 12 hours depending on which route you choose, and it's small groups in an air-conditioned vehicle between stops. Long walks and some uneven terrain are built in, so comfortable shoes matter—but the pace is yours to set.
