The experience

“Try the cardamom tea. It’s stronger than you think,” our guide Khalid grinned as he handed me a tiny glass at Souq Waqif. The market was already alive: shopkeepers calling out in Arabic and English, the smell of spices mixing with the faint scent of camel leather. I got distracted by a falconer showing off his bird to a group of kids: honestly, I’d never seen a falcon up close before.
