This tour strings together the landmarks most visitors want to photograph—the traditional souq, the glittering bay views, the ultra-modern island development—and moves between them on a fixed schedule so the night holds together. You get picked up from your hotel or the airport and travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with a guide who speaks English and knows where to stop for the clearest shots.

Souq Waqif is the first real stop. The maze of small shops sells spices, perfumes, jewelry and handicrafts, and the narrow alleys fill with the smell of cardamom and incense. You walk through on your own pace, browse the stalls, and can sit at one of the cafes if you want to linger. From there the tour moves to the Corniche, a 10-kilometer palm-fringed promenade that curves around Doha Bay—the guide stops so you can photograph the city lights and the water. West Bay comes next, a drive through the district where Qatar's tallest skyscrapers cluster together, all glass and steel against the night sky.

Katara Cultural Village is where the pace slows. It's the largest cultural project in Qatar, with theaters, concert halls and exhibition galleries built around open courtyards. You walk through the grounds and can step inside the galleries if they're open during your visit. The last stop is The Pearl-Qatar, a man-made island covering 400 hectares with high-end shops, restaurants and a boardwalk along Porto Arabia. It's the most glamorous address in the Middle East, and the tour ends there so you can walk the waterfront or grab dinner before heading back to your hotel.
