Marrakech Tour: Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden & Souks
Three palaces and a garden in one morning, without navigating the souks alone.
A half-day walking tour of Marrakech's medina takes you through Djemaa el Fna, the Photography Museum, Bahia Palace, Badii Palace and Majorelle Garden with a live guide in your language. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included; Majorelle Garden admission is an optional add-on at checkout. Groups stay under ten people.

The Experience
The tour starts at your hotel and moves through the medina on foot, where a guide walks you past spice shops and traditional bakeries to show how daily life actually works in Marrakech's old center. Djemaa el Fna, the main square, anchors the first part of the morning—the guide navigates the maze of souks around it so you see the rhythm of the market without getting lost in it. The Photography Museum sits nearby and gives a different angle on the city's history before the group moves on to the palaces.
Bahia Palace comes next, a 19th-century residence with rooms built around courtyards and zellige tilework that the guide explains as you walk through. Badii Palace, built in the 1570s, sits a short distance away—what remains are the foundations and some arches, but the scale of what stood there is still visible. The minivan transports the group between these stops, so the walking stays manageable even in the heat.
Majorelle Garden is the final stop if you add the ticket at checkout. The garden sits outside the medina proper and is a different kind of space—planted with palms, bamboo and cacti around a villa painted in a specific shade of blue. The ticket is purchased separately because entry is managed by the garden itself, but the guide takes the group through if you have chosen to include it. The whole tour runs three to four hours from pickup to drop-off.

What is Djemaa el Fna and what happens there on the tour?
Djemaa el Fna is the main square of the medina and the heart of Marrakech's old center. The guide walks you through the square and the souks around it to show the market in action—the spice stalls, the food vendors, the rhythm of daily commerce—rather than just passing through.
Do I need to buy a ticket for Majorelle Garden separately?
Majorelle Garden admission is optional and added at checkout for approximately 170 DH. If you choose to include it, the guide takes the group through the garden as part of the tour; if not, the tour ends after Badii Palace.
How much walking is involved in the medina?
The medina portion is a walking tour through the souks and around Djemaa el Fna, but the guide chooses the route and keeps the pace steady. Transport by air-conditioned minivan connects the palaces and the garden, so you are not walking the entire three to four hours.
What should I wear on this tour?
A conservative dress code is recommended in Morocco as a sign of respect to local culture. Keep your upper body—shoulders, chest and midriff—and your knees covered at all times. Shorts are not recommended.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes, the tour is child-friendly. Children aged 6 to 11 are welcome at the child rate listed at checkout. Children under 6 join free of charge; let the operator know at booking via the special request box if you are bringing a child under 6.
What languages does the guide speak?
The guide is live and available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and nine additional languages. Select your language at checkout.
