Ride ATVs on Migriño Beach then sky bike over dunes and taste tequila

You’ll kick up sand on an ATV across Migriño Beach with a local guide leading the way, spot whales if it’s wintertime, and pedal sky bikes high above Pacific waves before winding down with artisanal tequila tasting back at Cactus Park. Expect dust in your hair and stories to take home.

The Experience

Helmet straps getting tugged tight, sand already in my shoes — that’s how our day started at Cactus Park. Our guide, Luis, grinned as he handed me the keys to a battered red ATV. “Go easy at first,” he said, but honestly I didn’t hear much after the engines fired up. The sound was sharp, almost metallic against the early sun. We followed Luis down a path that cut through scrubby hills and then suddenly — there it was — Migriño Beach. The ocean looked endless and wild, not like those crowded hotel strips back in Cabo San Lucas.

I remember the salt in the air mixing with dust from the trail, sticking to my lips. Every so often Luis would slow down and point out something — a whale’s splash way out near the horizon (he spotted it before any of us), or some tiny purple flowers pushing up through sand I’d never have noticed. The ride itself was rougher than I expected but kind of addictive; you get into this rhythm bouncing over dunes with nothing but sea breeze and engine noise for company. At one point we stopped just to watch pelicans dive-bombing for fish — nobody talked for a minute or two.

The sky bike thing? I’ll admit I thought it sounded gimmicky until I was actually pedaling up there, legs shaking just a bit (don’t look down if you’re nervous). The harness felt snug and safe though. Up high you can see all the way down the coast — sun glinting off wet sand, ATVs like little ants below. Someone behind me started singing “La Bamba” off-key; even Luis laughed at that.

Back at base there was this quiet moment: helmets off, faces streaked with dust, someone passing around cold water bottles while we caught our breath. Then came trays of tequila — smoky, sweet, nothing like what you get in tourist bars downtown. One of the staff explained how each variety is made; I tried repeating “reposado” with my best accent and got a round of applause (or maybe they were just being polite). Anyway, I still think about that view from above sometimes when things get noisy back home.

What’s included

Your day includes round-trip hotel transportation to Cactus Park in Los Cabos, all safety gear for both ATVs and sky bikes, bilingual guides throughout every activity, bottled water while you’re out on the trails or up in the air, an hour riding ATVs along Migriño Beach’s dunes and arroyos (solo or double), one hour of high-altitude adventure on sky bikes plus an ecological hike if you want it — and finally a proper tequila tasting session before heading back to your hotel.
