Sorrento Cooking Class & Wine Pairing: Fresh Pasta by Sea
Craft fresh pasta in an 1800s villa surrounded by citrus and olive trees.
A three-hour cooking class in an 1800s villa in Sorrento where you prepare fresh tagliatelle and ravioli with a chef, then eat what you made in the garden under lemon trees while a sommelier guides you through local wines matched to each dish. The class includes equipment, lunch, wine tasting, and a recipe book; pickup is included from Sorrento, and children from age 3 are welcome.
The Experience
You arrive at a family villa built in 1800, set among olive trees and facing the sea. A chef walks you through making fresh pasta by hand—tagliatelle and ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach—and tiramisu. The kitchen is yours to work in, with all the equipment provided, and the chef shows you the true Italian way to roll, cut and shape each piece. By the end of the lesson, you have made the dishes yourself, not watched someone else make them.
Lunch happens in the garden under the shade of lemon and olive trees. You eat the pasta and tiramisu you just prepared, along with bruschetta with seasonal vegetables, caciocavallo cheese, and local bread. A glass of sparkling wine opens the meal. Then a sommelier sits down and explains the wines chosen to pair with each course—a real tasting, not just pouring. The wines are local to Sorrento, and the sommelier walks you through how they match the dishes on your plate. You also taste extra virgin olive oil pressed from the villa's own trees, served with bread.
The class runs three hours total, and pickup is included from your Sorrento hotel or meeting point. You leave with a recipe book and a certificate. Children from age 3 can join; those under 18 receive soft drinks instead of wine, and the kitchen is set up for all fitness levels. If you have a gluten allergy, let the operator know when you book.
