Chianti: Organic Wine Tasting & Vineyard Tour with Lunch
Driving into Chianti's vineyards, you taste what three generations have learned to grow
You tour the vineyards and cellar with one of the three brothers or their team, taste four organic wines paired with local cheeses and cold cuts, sample their olive oil, and eat seasonal produce from their garden. The Experience
You're driving into the Chianti landscape, past rows of vines that belong to Federico, Raimondo, and Riccardo—three brothers who run their vineyard as an organic operation. The tour starts in the vineyards themselves, where the guide walks you through how the grapes are grown and what happens after harvest. Then you move into the cellar, where the aging happens, where the bottles sit in the dark and the work of caring for wine becomes visible. It's not a polished tasting room; it's the actual place where they make it.
The tasting itself moves through four organic wines—a crisp white (malvasia), a rosé (sangiovese), a red Chianti Classico, and an orange wine (trebbiano)—each one paired with something from the land: local cheeses, cold cuts from nearby producers, olives, and whatever vegetables are in season in their garden. You taste the extra virgin olive oil too, the one they press themselves. The brothers talk about what goes into each bottle, how the soil changes the flavor, why they chose to farm without chemicals. It's the kind of detail that only comes from someone who actually does the work, not someone reading from a script.
You eat and drink in their garden if the weather holds, or inside the house if it doesn't. There's no rush. The whole thing takes as long as it takes—usually a few hours—and you leave knowing exactly which wines you want to order again and why. The guide speaks English or Italian, so language isn't a barrier. Wheelchairs and strollers work fine here; all the surfaces are accessible, and if you're bringing small children, they can sit on your lap during the tasting or eat from the spread while you taste.
