Four Legendary Car Museums in a Single Day from Bologna

You visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello with its Formula One hall and World Champion helmets; the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena with the original house and contemporary yellow-hooded building; the Pagani Museum with the Zonda and Huayra; and the Lamborghini Museum (MUDETEC) in Sant'Agata with models from the 350 GT to the Urus. Lunch at a traditional Emilia-Romagna restaurant is included, transport between all four sites is arranged, and your English-speaking guide stays with you the whole day.

8h 30m

Step-by-step itinerary

  • Visit Ferrari Museum in Maranello
  • Explore Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena
  • Tour Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese
  • Discover Pagani Museum exhibits
  • Enjoy typical Italian lunch

The Experience

The Ferrari Museum sits 300 metres from the factory in Maranello, and that proximity matters — you're standing where the cars were built. The collection rotates roughly 40 models through the main hall, but what stays are the Formula One cars from 1999 to 2008, the Victory Hall with its 110 trophies, and the helmets of nine World Champions: Villeneuve, Berger, Mansell, Prost. If you want to drive a Ferrari on the roads near Maranello or try the F1 simulator, you arrange that in advance and pay extra on the day; the test drive gets recorded and you take the video home.

After Maranello, the tour moves to Modena for the Enzo Ferrari Museum, which is less about cars and more about the man — his life, his documents, the Modena Autodrome where it all started. There's a contemporary building added to the original house and garage, shaped like a yellow aluminum Ferrari hood (yellow for Modena, yellow for Enzo's choice). Then you stop for lunch, typical Emilia-Romagna food, which in this region means you're eating what Bologna is actually known for. The pace is shared-group, so you're not alone but you're not in a crowd either.

The Pagani Museum in San Cesario sul Panaro tells a different story — an Argentine engineer's dream that became real. You see the Zonda in all its versions, the Zonda La Nonna (a one-off), the Zonda R, and the Huayra. Then Sant'Agata Bolognese, where Lamborghini lives. The museum there (now called MUDETEC) has everything from the early 350 GT and Miura through the Countach, the LM 002, and the current Asterion, Centenario, Huracán Performante, Aventador SVJ, and the Urus SUV. If you want to drive a Lamborghini on the road or try the driving simulator, same deal as Ferrari — arrange ahead, pay extra on the day.

Your guide speaks English throughout, and the whole day is structured so you move between four museums without arranging transport or timing yourself. Infants can come in a pram or stroller, and the itinerary suits all fitness levels — you're walking through museums and sitting in a car between stops. If you're serious about a test drive or simulator, email ahead; otherwise, just show up ready to walk through four decades of supercar history.
