Learn to make two iconic dishes in a local kitchen, then eat what you've cooked

A five-hour cooking class in Bergamo where you shop the local market with a Cesarina host, return to her home, and make one pasta type typical of the city and tiramisu from scratch. You'll warm up with Prosecco and nibbles, cook hands-on under instruction, then sit down to taste everything you've prepared with local wines and coffee. The class runs in English or Italian with a small group of other food-focused guests.

The experience

The morning starts at the local market, where your Cesarina host teaches you how to pick seasonal ingredients the way locals do. You'll learn what makes one product better than another and why timing matters: knowledge that changes how you shop when you get home. After an hour or so browsing and selecting, you head back to her home kitchen.

Once there, you warm up with an Italian aperitivo: Prosecco and nibbles while you settle in. Then the hands-on work begins. You'll make one iconic pasta type that belongs to Bergamo, learning the technique and the story behind it. Then you move on to tiramisu, building it layer by layer. The Cesarina guides each step, but you're the one doing the work, mixing, shaping, layering. You wear an official Cesarina apron the whole time.

When everything is ready, you sit down together to taste it all. Local wines, beverages and coffee come with the meal, so you eat and drink what you've made in the company of the other guests in the class. The whole experience runs five hours.
