The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup and a drive to Padang Bai beach, where your professional snorkeling guide meets you and walks through the basics before you gear up. All equipment is provided. A small boat then transfers you to the first snorkel site, where you spend about an hour in the water. The sandy bottom and coral reef here are home to schools of tropical fish, and the visibility is especially good for underwater photography. After the first site, the boat moves you to the second spot for another hour of snorkeling, giving you two different views of the marine life in the area.
Between the water and the boat ride back to shore, you'll have time to shower and change in the beach facilities. Lunch is Indonesian food served nearby, and mineral water is provided throughout. The whole outing runs about six hours from the moment you're picked up until you're back at your accommodation. The private setup means your guide adjusts the pace and stops to what you want to see, rather than moving with a larger group on a fixed schedule.

Top questions
What's the water like at Blue Lagoon when I snorkel there?
Blue Lagoon has a sandy bottom and sits over one of Bali's coral reefs. Tropical fish are common, and the visibility is good enough that macro underwater photography is popular at this spot. You'll snorkel for roughly an hour here as one of your two sites.
Do I need snorkeling experience to book this?
No. Your professional local guide gives instructions on how to snorkel when you arrive at the beach, and all equipment is provided. The activity is suitable for all physical fitness levels, though the minimum age is six years.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day I'm booked?
Clear visibility is subject to favorable weather conditions, so rough seas or poor visibility could affect the snorkeling. Check with the operator closer to your date if weather concerns you.
Can I add something else to the snorkeling, or is it snorkeling only?
You can choose snorkeling on its own, or pair it with a waterfall visit, an ATV single ride, or an ATV tandem ride. Pick your option at checkout.
