The Experience

What do you want from a day in Bali — underwater or on land? The snorkeling happens at Blue Lagoon and Tanjung Jepun, two shallow sites known for calm water and coral reefs where you'll see tropical fish. You spend roughly 2 hours in the water across both spots, traveling between them by traditional Balinese boat. The equipment — mask, fins, life jacket — is provided, and the water is clear enough that beginners and non-swimmers do fine here. A short ride on the boat itself is part of the experience, not just transport.

The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Legian, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua or Sanur. After snorkeling, you eat lunch at a beachfront restaurant with views of the ocean; the menu is Indonesian set meals like fried rice or noodles, and vegetarian options are available if you ask the restaurant staff when you arrive. The whole outing takes about 8 hours from pickup to drop-off. If you book the waterfall option, you'll also visit Tibumana Waterfall and Kanto Lampo Waterfall, both surrounded by jungle; that version adds those stops to the day.
