The experience
The water time is split between two reefs. Blue Lagoon is the first snorkeling spot, where you have roughly an hour to explore the coral and watch for clown fish, surgeon fish, tuna, turtles and reef sharks if conditions allow. After that, the boat moves to Tanjung Jeun for a second hour in the water, where the reef holds cuttlefish, angelfish, beef fish and moray eels. Both sites sit in the east part of Bali and are chosen as beginner-friendly reefs.
Between the two snorkeling sessions, you stop at Bias Tugel Beach, a small bay with a 130-metre stretch of white sand where you can rest and swim without gear. From there, the group visits a coffee plantation to see how traditional Balinese coffee and herbal tea are processed. You get a free tasting. Lunch is Asian food provided during the day, and bottled water comes with you the whole time.
The operator supplies all snorkeling equipment, handles the boat transport between sites, and picks you up from your hotel. The full day runs eight hours from pickup to return.
Is this one for you?The day is eight hours start to finish with two one-hour snorkeling sessions, so it suits travelers who want substantial water time but also want to see the island beyond the reefs. You'll be in and out of the boat a few times, and the pace includes a relaxation stop at the beach and a plantation visit, so it's not a back-to-back diving day.
