The Experience

The day starts with a one-hour drive to Batubulan Village, where batik makers work at the Bali Batik Wand Weaving Center — you'll spend about an hour watching the traditional fabric-painting process. From there it's a thirty-minute drive to Mas Village, the center of wood carving in the region, followed by another thirty minutes to Bali Bird Park. The park holds around a thousand birds from 250 species across two hectares, with birds from Indonesia, Africa and South America; you'll have two and a half hours there.

At Bali Bird Park, your ticket covers the rainforest free-flight bird show, the basic instinct bird-of-prey show, pelican feeding, Papua rainforest feeding, the Komodo experience, lory feeding, meet-the-bird-stars, a 4D cinema and access to the Guyu Guyu corner. After the park, it's thirty minutes to Ubud Palace — a royal residence set in the center of Ubud with traditional Balinese architecture and a banyan tree courtyard — where you'll spend about thirty minutes. Then thirty minutes more to Ubud Art Market, directly across from the palace, where you can browse for an hour and a half before the driver takes you back to your hotel, a final hour's drive.

Your driver speaks English and handles all the logistics: fuel, parking, and entry to every site are paid upfront. If a stop doesn't interest you, tell the driver and move on to the next one. Infants sit on an adult's lap; the tour suits all fitness levels.
