The experience

The rafting itself is the core of the day. You'll spend 2 hours on the Ayung River, which flows through Bali's rainforest with clear water and a 10-kilometer route. The rapids are class II–III level, which means they're designed for beginners and children as young as 5. A professional rafting guide stays with your group and gives instructions throughout. You get safety-approved equipment, a locker for your belongings, towels and a shower afterward at the rafting restaurant.

After rafting, the day branches into three stops. Tegalalang Rice Terrace spreads across the valley in dramatic terraced slopes: a local farmer who owns the land invites visitors to sample green coconut drink and buy woven hats made from coconut leaves. Tirta Empul Temple is a water temple built in 960 AD, famous for its holy spring water used in ritual purification. It's also a national cultural heritage site. The final stop is Tegenungan Waterfall, a 20-meter cascade in the southern part of Ubud where the water is clean and suitable for bathing.

Pickup starts at 8:00 AM from your hotel in Seminyak or nearby areas (Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Kuta, Legian, Canggu and others are also served). You travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your own English-speaking driver, who acts as your tour guide. Lunch is a buffet served at the rafting restaurant.
