The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Seminyak hotel at 8 a.m. and a drive to the Ayung River, where you spend 2 hours rafting a 10-kilometer stretch. The rapids are class II–III level, safe for beginners and families, and a professional guide stays with you the whole time, giving instructions and pointing out the wildlife: blue javan kingfishers, rice fields and jungle on both banks. The water is clear and fresh enough to swim in if you want to stop.
After rafting, you shower and change at the facility, then head to lunch at the rafting restaurant. The second half of the day takes you to Kanto Lampo Waterfall, hidden deep in Bali's jungle and quiet enough to feel like an escape, then to Tukad Cepung Waterfall, the most photographed of the two and a popular spot on Instagram. You return to your hotel by late afternoon.
The guide speaks English and Malay. The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats only your party, so there's no waiting for other groups or sharing the commentary. All safety equipment, lockers, towels and changing rooms are provided, along with rafting insurance. Bring sunscreen, a camera and a change of clothes for after the water.
