The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup at 8:00 AM and a drive to the Telaga Waja River, where you spend 3 hours navigating rapids through rain forest and stone cliffs. The river is accessible to beginners and experienced paddlers alike. You'll paddle past waterfalls and get splashed by falling water in certain sections. A professional river guide leads the raft, and there's a break midway where you can photograph the landscape or rest. The rafting company provides a photographer if you don't bring a camera, and afterward you shower and change at the facility before heading to lunch at a riverside restaurant.
After rafting, the drive continues to Kintamani in Bali's central mountains, where Mount Batur volcano dominates the view across its caldera and Lake Batur. You'll see the crater itself and the winding road along the lake shore. Next is Tegalalang Rice Terrace, a high roadside viewpoint north of Ubud where terraced fields slope down across the valley: a well-known photography stop. The final stop is Tegenungan Waterfall, a 20-meter drop that reaches 20 meters high along the Petanu River, framed by green rocky walls. On the way you pass Mas Village, known for wood carving, and may see Elephant Cave and Batuan Temple.
Your private vehicle means no other travelers share the experience, only your party. The air-conditioned car, English-speaking driver-guide, all entrance tickets, rafting insurance and safety equipment are included. Lunch is buffet style with a vegetarian option available if you request it at booking. Bring sunscreen, a camera and a change of clothes. The whole day runs 9 to 10 hours from pickup to return.
