The experience

The minivan picks you up from your hotel in central Nice and heads straight for the Promenade des Anglais, where the driver points out the curve of the bay before turning inland toward the Middle Corniche. You're climbing now, switchbacks tightening, and the view behind you keeps getting wider: Villefranche Bay spreads out below, then disappears as the road wraps around the cliffs.
