The experience
The day starts in Cannes, where you walk the red carpet steps of the Palais des Festivals and stroll the Croisette Boulevard past the Carlton, Majestic and Martinez hotels where film festival stars stay. From there the route follows the coast toward Antibes, passing through Golfe-Juan and Juan-les-Pins before reaching the old town's 15th-century ramparts and the Picasso Museum in Grimaldi Castle. Your guide drives you past Antibes' marina and its Billionaires' Quay, then inland toward the Trophy of the Alps (the oldest Roman monument on the French Riviera) in the village of La Turbie.
Eze sits 400 meters above the sea on a hilltop filled with narrow streets and history. There are steps to climb to reach the top of the village, and you'll have time to explore on your own before visiting the Fragonard Perfume Factory to learn how fragrances are made. The guide shares facts during the minivan drives, but the stops themselves are yours to spend as you want.
The final stretch descends into Monaco, where you see the Prince's Palace on the Rock (and the changing of the guards if you're there in the morning), visit Monaco's Cathedral, and stop at Monte Carlo Casino to see its architecture and the display of luxury cars outside. Entry to the casino costs 17 euros and is available in the afternoon only. You can gamble a few coins or simply walk through to see the interior. The minivan returns you to your hotel or ship at the end of the day.
