The Experience

You're picked up at Villefranche cruise port in a Mercedes van that seats up to eight passengers. You start along the Lower Corniche, then climb to the Moyenne Corniche for a 15-minute photo stop overlooking the Bay of Villefranche and the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

From there, you spend 45 minutes to an hour and a half in Eze, a medieval village built into a hilltop above the sea. You walk its cobblestone streets with your guide, who explains the history as you pass through galleries and boutiques. While you're there, you also get a guided tour of the Fragonard Perfume Factory, where you learn how French perfume is made — a 30-minute stop. Then the van climbs to the Grande Corniche, one of Europe's highest coastal roads, with views across the Riviera and into the Alps.

In Monaco, you stop at Le Rocher — the old town — to see the Prince's Palace and St. Nicholas Cathedral, with a view over the port. Next comes a drive along the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, where the cars actually race through the city streets and tunnels. Your final stop is Monte Carlo's Casino Square, where you walk past the Casino de Monte-Carlo and the luxury boutiques for about 30 minutes. The return to Villefranche follows the Basse Corniche, hugging the coast the whole way back.
