Two days means you see the major Cairo sites without rushing or splitting the trip across separate bookings. Day one starts with pickup from your Hurghada hotel and the drive to Cairo, where your private guide meets you at the Giza Pyramids. You walk the Valley Temple (the only surviving granite mortuary temple from the plateau), then stand in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest of the three and the only one still intact from the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Great Sphinx comes next, the 73-meter limestone statue that has watched the plateau for millennia. By afternoon you're in Khan el-Khalili, the oldest and most famous bazaar in the Middle East, where you can move through the stalls at your own pace before heading to your hotel for the night.

Day two begins after breakfast. Your guide takes you to the Egyptian Museum, which holds over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of Egyptian art and history. Then you visit the Citadel of Saladin, the fortress that served as Egypt's seat of government until the 1860s and took six years to build starting in 1176. Inside it stands the Mohamed Ali Mosque, built between 1830 and 1848 and faced entirely in alabaster. It's sometimes called the Alabaster Mosque because of it. After that, the drive back to Hurghada takes the afternoon and evening.
