PADI Open Water Certification in El Gouna: 3-Day Course
Three days from pool to open water: knowledge, confined water practice, then four ocean dives that earn your certification
The PADI Open Water Diver course in El Gouna takes three days and moves through three phases: classroom learning and videos, confined water dives in a pool-like setting, and four open water dives in the Red Sea where you demonstrate skills and earn your certification to dive worldwide to 18 meters. The course includes all scuba equipment, a live guide in English, German or Arabic, and hotel pickup; children are welcome from age 10.
The Experience
Day one starts with knowledge development—you'll work through learning materials covering diving techniques, safety procedures and terminology, with your PADI instructor reviewing key points to make sure everything lands. Then you move into confined water training in a pool or pool-like environment, where you practice fundamental skills with the equipment in a controlled setting. This phase builds confidence before you ever enter the ocean.
Days two and three are where the real diving happens. You'll complete four open water dives in the Red Sea, demonstrating essential skills while exploring the underwater world. Your instructor watches each dive and signs off on your performance. The course wraps with a final exam and your PADI Open Water Diver certification, which lets you dive independently worldwide to a depth of 18 meters. The boat is spacious with a sun deck and shaded areas, and you'll have fresh meals and drinks throughout the course.
A live guide leads the entire course in your choice of English, German or Arabic. Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport to the dive site. The course is suitable for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.

Is this one for you?The three-day structure with pool training before open water dives suits anyone learning to dive for the first time—you build skills progressively in a controlled setting before the instructor takes you into the Red Sea, so confidence grows before you need it. If you're already certified or prefer a shorter introduction to diving, look for a discover scuba or snorkel option instead.
