The PADI Advanced Open Water Course in Hurghada is a two-day diving class where certified divers complete five adventure dives with experienced PADI instructors in small groups. You'll master Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation while exploring Red Sea reefs and marine life at some of Hurghada's best dive sites. The course includes all scuba equipment, snorkelling gear, lunch, and refreshments; pickup is arranged, and instruction is available in English, French, or German.

The Experience

The course runs over two days and centers on five adventure dives—not classroom work, but real dives at actual Red Sea sites. You start with Deep Dive, where you descend to greater depths than recreational diving allows, learning to manage pressure and nitrogen narcosis. The Underwater Navigation dive teaches you to plot a course underwater using landmarks and compass work. Three additional adventure dives round out the certification, each building a specific skill: buoyancy control, search and recovery, or another specialty your instructor tailors to your level. All equipment—tanks, regulators, BCDs, wetsuits—is provided.

The dives happen at Hurghada's most established reef sites, where the coral and fish populations are dense enough that the navigation and depth work feel purposeful rather than abstract. Your group stays small, which means the instructor can watch your buoyancy and trim closely and adjust the pace if someone needs a moment to settle. Lunch and coffee or tea are included each day; you bring nothing but your certification card and a willingness to spend the morning and early afternoon in the water.

Pickup is arranged from your hotel. The course is taught in English, French, or German—confirm your language preference when you book. This is not a refresher or a casual dive trip; it's structured instruction that adds a real credential to your diving passport and teaches you to handle deeper water and more complex navigation with confidence.
