A 3-day PADI Open Water Diver Course in Hurghada teaches you to dive independently in the Red Sea through theory, shallow-water drills, and open water dives under direct instructor supervision. The course runs in small groups with a certified instructor fluent in English, French or German; hotel pickup, all diving equipment, lunch and your logbook are included. You finish certified to dive up to 18 meters anywhere in the world.
The Experience
The course starts with theory—either online or taught by your instructor—covering diving principles, equipment and safety rules. You learn at a pace that keeps you comfortable, with clear explanations and personal coaching throughout. Once you understand the fundamentals, you move to shallow, calm water in the Red Sea to practice the essential skills you'll need underwater. This is where the nervousness usually drops away: your instructor stays close, you repeat each skill until it feels natural, and nothing moves fast.
After shallow-water practice, you board the diving boat for your open water dives. This is where the certification happens. You apply everything you've learned under direct supervision, descending to greater depths as your confidence builds. The boat trip runs six hours total, and you complete multiple dives across the three days. By the end, you hold a PADI Open Water card valid worldwide and can dive independently down to 18 meters—on a reef, in a quarry, or anywhere else you choose to go.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport. The boat provides all diving equipment—wetsuit, tank, regulator, weights, everything—so you arrive with nothing but yourself. Lunch is a full buffet on the boat, plus water, soft drinks and hot drinks throughout the day. Your diving logbook goes home with you, a record of every dive and the skills you've mastered.
