The PADI Open Water Diver Course in Hurghada is a three-day class where you learn scuba fundamentals, practice in confined water, and complete four open water dives in the Red Sea under a certified instructor's supervision. Groups stay at five students maximum, ensuring hands-on attention. All diving equipment, meals on board, and hotel pickup from the Hurghada area are included. The course is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy; moderate physical fitness is required.

The Experience

The course runs over three days and starts with theory and shallow-water training where you learn the basics of breathing underwater, equalizing pressure, and handling equipment. A certified PADI instructor walks you through each skill in a controlled environment before you move to open water. You'll complete five confined water training sessions to build confidence, then move to the four open water dives where you put everything into practice in the actual Red Sea.

All diving equipment is provided—BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, tank, and weights—so you arrive with nothing but your swimsuit and a willingness to learn. The boat carries safety equipment and first aid, and the instructor stays with your group throughout. Lunch and soft drinks are served on board during the dive days. Hotel pickup and drop-off from the Hurghada area are included, so the logistics of getting to the boat are handled.

By the end of day three, you'll have your official PADI Open Water Diver certification, which means you can dive independently anywhere in the world up to 18 meters. The instructor speaks English, French, German, or Czech depending on the group. Children are welcome from age nine.
