The Experience

Start your course whenever suits your schedule by completing PADI's eLearning materials online—study at home, on your tablet, or your phone, at your own pace and in your preferred language. You finish the theory before arriving in Hurghada, so the three days on the water focus entirely on the skills and dives that matter. The instructors, certified and experienced, teach in small groups and adapt the training to how you learn, giving you the personal attention that makes the difference between nervous and confident underwater.

The three days unfold in confined water sessions where you master essential diving skills, then open water training in the Red Sea itself. You'll use full equipment throughout—mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator—all provided. Lunch, soft drinks, water, coffee and tea are included each day. A driver picks you up from your Hurghada hotel and brings you back, so you don't arrange transport or worry about finding the dive site.

Your PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide and valid to 18 meters, which opens dive sites across the globe. The logbook you complete during the course is your record and your credential.

Can I do the PADI eLearning before I arrive in Hurghada?

Yes. You complete the online theory materials at home before the course starts, studying whenever and wherever you want. The eLearning fee of 100€ is paid separately and in advance; access is personalized to you and non-refundable once activated.

What languages do the instructors speak?

The instructors teach in English, French, German, Arabic, and two additional languages, so you can learn in whichever language you're most comfortable with.

Is all the diving gear included, or do I need to bring my own?

Full equipment is included: mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, and diving logbook. You don't need to bring or rent anything.

How does pickup work from my hotel?

Hotel pickup and drop-off from Hurghada are included in the course price. If you're staying in Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna, Safaga or Soma Bay, you can arrange pickup from those locations at checkout.

What is the minimum age to take the PADI Open Water Course?

The course is not recommended for children under 10 years old. Participants should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness; the course is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health.

How deep can I dive after I'm certified?

Your PADI Open Water Diver certification allows you to dive independently up to 18 meters (about 60 feet) anywhere in the world.
