The experience
The day starts with a 30-minute hike through the rainforest to the first zipline. Once you clip in, you cross 5 lines strung over waterfalls and jungle canopy, each one higher or longer than the last. Two rope bridges let you descend further into the canyon without touching ground. The real payoff comes after the last zipline: you reach the seventh waterfall and start the descent on foot, sliding down natural rock chutes, jumping into pools, and swimming under falling water on your way back to base camp.
A guide stays with the group throughout, pointing out safe jump spots at each waterfall and sharing the history of the canyon, including stories from the Taino Indians who first found this place. The guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on your group. After you finish the waterfall section, you'll have time to cool off and change before heading back to base camp for a hot Dominican lunch (vegetarian options available), bottled water, and the drive back to your hotel or cruise port. For cruise passengers, the meeting time is 45 minutes after your ship docks.

Is this one for you?The 4-hour commitment leaves room for other activities earlier or later in your day, making it a solid fit for cruise passengers with a single port stop or travelers staying in Puerto Plata with flexible plans. If you need a shorter outing or have a packed schedule, this full waterfall-and-zipline combination may run longer than you have available.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (11 to 17 years); Child (8 to 10 years). Children under 8 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How fit do I need to be to zipline and swim through the waterfalls?
A moderate level of physical fitness is required. The 30-minute hike to the first zipline is steady but not steep, and the waterfall section involves climbing, jumping and swimming, so you need to be comfortable in water and able to move over wet rocks.
What's the difference between ziplining over the waterfalls and sliding down them?
The ziplines take you across the canyon high above the water, giving you views of the jungle and the falls below. The waterfall descent happens after the ziplines: you hike down and then slide, jump and swim through seven waterfalls on your way back, moving through the water itself rather than over it.
What happens if I'm arriving on a cruise ship?
The meeting time is 45 minutes after your cruise docks at Amber Cove or Taino Bay. Transport picks you up at the port and returns you in time for your ship's departure.
What's included in the lunch?
A hot Dominican meal with vegetarian options is served at base camp after the waterfall section, along with bottled water to refill before the drive back.
