The experience
The activity starts with a 15-minute drive from your hotel to Country World Adventure Park in Maimón. Once there, you get fitted with harness and safety gear, and a bottle of fresh water attaches to your harness for the duration. After a safety briefing, you move onto the 8 ACCT-certified ziplines: double, galvanized aircraft steel cable spanning more than 7,900 feet total. The lines run through the Dominican countryside, and the guide controls the pace and makes sure you're secure before each run.
After the ziplines, you switch to horseback for a relaxing ride through the countryside. The horses are matched to your skill level, and the guide gives basic riding instruction to anyone who needs it, including children and beginners. The ride is designed to be manageable for all experience levels. If you want another rush after the ride, there's a pool zipline option available.
Lunch is a home-cooked Dominican meal (rice, beans, chicken, fried plantains, vegetables) served at the park and vegetarian-friendly options are available. After eating, you walk through the tropical garden and petting zoo before the drive back to your hotel. The whole outing runs about 4.5 hours from pickup to drop-off.
