The Experience

Puerto Plata's zipline course is built specifically to give you views of the ocean as you glide between platforms—not a forest canopy, but open water and crashing surf below. You wear a helmet and harness engineered for safety across all experience levels, and the guides walk you through the setup before you step to the edge. The sequence of the ziplines depends on how the day's operations flow, so you move through them as the staff directs rather than choosing your own order.

Once you finish the circuit, the afternoon shifts to Coconut Cove, the private beach attached to the same outpost. The water here is calm and warm, isolated from the vendor-heavy public beaches nearby. The restaurant and bar are there if you want food or a drink, though meals are available for purchase rather than included. Arrive no later than 2:30 pm if you are driving yourself; the ride to the location is bumpy, which is why the operator does not recommend this activity for pregnant travelers or anyone with back or neck injuries.
