The experience
The day starts with eight ziplines that run above the forest canopy toward the highest point of the Damajagua River gorge. You wear a protective helmet and life jacket throughout, and a specialized guide stays with the group so you know what to expect at each line. After the ziplines, you walk down to the natural stone slides and waterfalls where you jump and swim in the river pools to cool off.
Lunch happens at a restaurant partway through the afternoon. Then you head to the buggy stand where you drive a two-person all-terrain vehicle, one driver per machine, through forest trails thick with mud, across river crossings and over uneven ground. The route ends at a beach where you can rinse off before heading back.
Roundtrip transportation picks you up from your hotel and drops you back when the activity finishes, timed so cruise passengers arriving at Port Amber Cove or Taino Bay can make it back to their ships. The operator provides bottled water, soda and alcoholic beverages throughout the day, plus WiFi on the transport vehicle.
