Step-by-step itinerary

Zip line adventure at Country World

  • Meet and greet at Country House Bar
  • Get equipped for zip lines
  • Receive safety briefing
  • Enjoy 8 ACCT certified zip lines
  • Take a plunge from pool zip line
  • Walk through tropical garden and petting zoo
  • Return to cruise port

The Experience

The park sits 10 minutes from Amber Cove or 20 minutes from Taino Bay, so the whole outing fits inside a port day. After you meet at the Country House Bar, the guides fit you with a harness and clip a bottle of water to it. The safety briefing covers what you need to know, then you step onto the first platform. The longest line runs 2,460 feet—you accelerate into it, the cable carries you out over the landscape, and when it's time to slow down the guide on the ground operates the braking system. You don't grip, don't pull, don't work to stop yourself. That's the whole difference between this and most zip line parks: the ride is the point, not the effort.

Eight lines means eight separate climbs and eight separate flights. Between them you walk through the tropical garden and past the petting zoo. If you want more after the main course, there's a pool zip line—a short plunge into water at the end. The whole thing runs two to three hours from the moment you arrive at the Country House Bar until the guides drop you back at your cruise port. No experience is required; children from age 3 can go, though they need to stay with an adult or one of the guides the whole time.

Guides speak English, Spanish, French and German. Bring sun protection and insect repellent, wear closed-toe shoes and long pants or shorts, and know that the uneven ground and the physical demands mean this isn't suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or significant walking disabilities. The weight limit is 260 pounds; waist and leg measurements also apply. Pregnant travelers should not participate. If weather forces changes to the route, the guides make the final call—the itinerary you see is the plan, but conditions beyond their control sometimes alter it.

Is this one for you?Book this if you want the adrenaline of a long zip line flight without the physical work of braking yourself—the guides handle the stopping, so you focus on the ride. It's also the choice for families with young children, since kids from age 3 can participate with a parent or guide, and the short drive from either cruise port means the whole adventure fits inside a port day without rushing.

Top questions

How far do you actually zip on the 8 lines?

The 8 ACCT-certified lines total more than 7,900 feet, or roughly 1.5 miles. The longest single line is 2,460 feet, so you get one extended flight plus seven shorter ones.

Do I have to know how to stop myself on the zip lines?

No—the guides operate all braking from the ground, so you don't grip, pull or use gloves to slow down. You ride free while they control when you stop.

Can my young child do this with me?

Children from age 3 can zip, but they must stay with an adult or one of the guides at all times. Small children can ride alongside a parent or guide on the lines themselves.

How long does the whole excursion take from the cruise port?

Plan two to three hours from arrival at Country House Bar through your return to the port. That includes the safety briefing, all 8 zip lines, the tropical garden walk, and the petting zoo.

What's included in the price, and what costs extra?

All equipment, professional guides, bottled water, and port pickup and drop-off are included. Lunch is available to purchase for $10 per person; alcoholic drinks and locker rentals are also available for an extra charge.

Which cruise port pickup should I choose?

Pick Amber Cove Cruise Port if your ship docks there (10 minutes from Country World), or Taino Bay if that's your port (20 minutes away). The guides will meet you at the Country House Bar either way.
