The experience

The first line launches you off a platform called the Pirate Ship at the mountain's peak. You're harnessed into a double harness with two cams that grip two overhead cables. The system is rated for 26,000 pounds, so even if you're nervous, you can ride tandem with an instructor. The integrated brake means you don't grab the cable to slow down. You just lean back and let the mechanism do the work. The first run alone stretches over 1000 feet, and it's the first of 12 total lines strung across the canopy.

Between zips, the landscape shifts from dense forest to open valley views. The course is built on a three-cable system that gives you redundancy: two cables support you while a third runs alongside for safety. If you want to flip upside down on any line, you can. If you don't, nothing forces it. The whole experience takes about four hours from hotel pickup to drop-off, which includes the time to walk between platforms and catch your breath between runs.

At the end, you can swim in Lulu Waterfalls if you bring a swimsuit under your clothes. After that comes the cultural tasting: locally produced chocolate, local moonshine, and fresh tropical fruit. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and handles all the logistics (transport, safety checks, and the tasting itself), so you show up and zip.
