Zipline Punta Cana is a 6-hour activity on 12 double cables set through mountain forest, where you and a partner zip side-by-side on the same line instead of parallel ones: the only setup of its kind in the Dominican Republic. The experience

Twelve cables, 18 platforms, and the longest zipline in the Caribbean at 800 meters: the course is built so you and your partner stay on the same cable the whole way, not on separate lines next to each other. You're clipped into climbing gear attached to double cables, which means the rig itself is what keeps you safe, not a harness doing the work alone. The mountain terrain around Punta Cana means the platforms are staggered in height, so each drop feels different: some are short and fast, others let you build speed before the next catch.

The day runs six hours from pickup at your hotel. A guide meets you, walks through the gear and the technique on the ground, then leads the group through the course at a pace that lets everyone clip, zip and land without rushing. Water stations sit at the platforms, and the guide handles the safety checks before each line. Morning and afternoon slots both work the same course. The difference is just when you start and finish.

You need moderate fitness to do this: the platforms require climbing and the cables demand grip strength, but the guide adjusts the pace for the group. Children from age 6 can go if an adult is with them. Maximum weight is 285 pounds and maximum waist is 44 inches. The gear is fitted to those limits. Pregnant travelers and anyone with spinal injuries or cardiovascular concerns should skip this one.
