The experience
The game drive runs in an open 4x4 safari vehicle with a certified guide, built around close encounters with three of the Big 5 (elephant, buffalo and white rhino), and a wider variety of antelope species including impala, duiker, puku and sable-antelope. Morning departures start between 6:00am and 8:00am. Afternoon pickups run from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. The early and late hours matter: the park is cooler then, and the animals are more active. You'll have ample time to photograph from the vehicle before the drive concludes on the Zambezi riverbank, where hippos surface and their groans carry across the water.
After the drive, a guided rhino walk gives you the chance to approach the white rhino on foot with the guide, a shift from the vehicle that changes how close you can get and how the light falls for pictures. The whole outing takes three hours and includes bottled water, light snacks like muffins or crisps, soft drinks, and hotel transfers both ways. Your guide speaks English and holds the park certification required for this work.

Is this one for you?The tour starts early (6:00am to 8:00am for morning departures) and involves three hours of driving and walking, so it suits travelers who are comfortable with an early start and steady activity. The open vehicle means you're exposed to the elements and the pace depends on animal sightings and guide stops, not a fixed itinerary.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 11 years); Infant (under 5): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What animals will I actually see on the game drive?
The game drive targets three of the Big 5 (elephant, buffalo and white rhino) plus a range of antelope species like impala, duiker, puku and sable-antelope. The park's size and the time of day affect sightings, but the guide positions the vehicle for the best chance at close encounters and photographs.
Why do the morning and afternoon times matter for a game drive?
Early morning departures between 6:00am and 8:00am and afternoon pickups from 2:00pm to 3:00pm catch the cooler parts of the day when animals are most active and visible. Midday heat drives them into shade, so the timing directly affects what you'll see.
How does the rhino walk differ from watching from the vehicle?
The guided rhino walk lets you approach the white rhino on foot with the guide, giving you a different vantage point and closer perspective than the open 4x4 allows. It's a separate phase of the tour that follows the game drive.
What's included in the three-hour tour?
The tour includes the game drive in the open 4x4 with a certified English-speaking guide, the guided rhino walk, bottled water, light snacks like muffins or crisps, soft drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off. Tips are optional.
Is there a minimum group size?
Yes, the activity requires a minimum of two people per booking.
