From there, you descend to Journey Behind the Falls, where tunnels carved into the rock put you 13 stories above the Horseshoe Falls as 700,000 gallons of water drop past every second at 40 miles per hour. The sound is like thunder. Then, from May through November, you board a Niagara City Cruises boat for a 20-minute ride that takes you past the American and Bridal Veil Falls and directly into the spray of the Horseshoe Falls. The boat has open and covered decks. In winter and spring, you visit the Butterfly Conservatory, Niagara Fury, or White Water Walk instead. The tour also includes a stop at the Floral Clock, where 16,000 carpet bedding plants create the face.
